TVS-2MS aircraft began operating in the air ambulance service of the Tomsk region

The machine created on the basis of the legendary An-2 has a range of 1000 kilometers

A TVS-2MS turboprop aircraft, created on the basis of the legendary An-2, has arrived in the aircraft fleet of the Tomsk Regional Clinical Hospital. The machine will be used for emergency evacuation of patients from northern settlements — Strezhevoy, Kedrovy and Sredny Vasyugan.

The aircraft is based in Kolpashevo and will operate flights to Kargasok, Parabel and Tomsk. According to the head of the region, the aircraft is equipped with two seats for bedridden patients and five seats, while the crew can be accompanied by up to two medical workers. The range of one thousand kilometers allows patients to be delivered to the regional center without intermediate refueling, which is critical when providing emergency care.

The manufacturer of the TVS-2MS is the Novosibirsk enterprise Rusaviaprom. From 2012 to 2025, the plant assembled 28 such aircraft. The cost of one aircraft is estimated at 200 million rubles. The machine combines the proven aerodynamic design of the An-2 with a modern turboprop engine, which increases the reliability, economy and all-weather operation in the conditions of the Siberian north.

The sanitary aviation of the Tomsk region is coordinated by the Experimental Design Bureau and is involved when there is a threat to life, when the patient requires high-tech assistance in specialized centers. Previously, the service had three helicopters at its disposal — two Mi-8MTV and Ansat, which are most in demand in the Parabelsky and Kargasoksky districts.
