Motor bogie frame of the first Russian high-speed rail train passed factory tests

The design has passed fatigue testing and is ready for certification

Key tests of the motor bogie frame for the first domestic high-speed electric train have been completed at the Ural Locomotives plant. The tests, carried out by specialists from VNIIZhT, confirmed the reliability of the design and its readiness for real operational loads.

The prototype frame passed two stages of testing. First, engineers subjected the part to cyclic loads — 10 million repetitions of force did not reveal any weak points in the design. At the same time, the brackets for attaching the brake equipment, gearbox and traction electric motor were checked: all units passed the test without damage.

Then the frame was tested in static mode, creating loads above the operating values. The design demonstrated high rigidity: after removing the maximum pressure, no residual deformations were recorded. This means that the frame has a significant margin of safety.

The test results coincided with the calculated data that the engineers laid down at the design stage. The data will be included in the documentation for the mandatory certification of the high-speed train. The first prototypes are planned to be sent for range tests in 2027.
