Uralvagonzavod (part of the Rostec State Corporation concern) has shipped its anniversary 60,000th innovative freight car. The 12-196-02 model gondola car rolled off the assembly line in a year that is symbolic for the enterprise — the plant celebrates 90 years since its foundation.
Model 12-196-02 is considered a flagship in the UVZ product line. Its design uses advanced developments of Nizhny Tagil engineers: a body increased to 94 cubic meters, a carrying capacity of 75 tons and an overhaul mileage of 500 thousand kilometers. The car is installed on a model 18-194-1 bogie with an axle load of 25 tf and fully complies with the requirements of the railway infrastructure of the Russian Federation.
UVZ has been mass-producing innovative cars since 2008, and the production of model 12-196-02 started in 2015. Designers of the Ural Design Bureau of Car Building continue to improve the gondola car, increasing its reliability and operational efficiency. Throughout its history, the company has produced more than 1.25 million units of rolling stock.
