A Moscow team of developers, known for creating the mass-produced "Skvorets" drone, has prepared a specialized interceptor drone for release in a short time. This was reported to TASS by the People's Front, whose "Kulibin Club" supports manufacturers.
The main task of the new product is to relieve expensive stationary air defense systems. Anton Belozerov, representing the manufacturing company, explained that the interceptor is integrated with radars that are already used by operators of anti-aircraft systems.
The device goes to the specified area, and its flight is adjusted according to the data of the radar station. At the moment of approaching the target at a distance of four to five meters, a directed munition is detonated remotely. This solution allows you to inflict pinpoint damage to the object and minimize the risk to surrounding structures.
The project is being implemented within the framework of an engineering club that tests and launches promising domestic developments into series production. Thanks to this platform, the production of thousands of units of equipment has already been established: from electronic warfare equipment and quadcopters to autonomous robotic platforms.
The new interceptor drone will continue the line of affordable and effective technical means to ensure the safety of facilities.
