The prospective Russian Orbital Station (ROS) will become the first drone platform in the world. This was announced by the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov.

According to the head of the state corporation, the station will be equipped with robotic systems that will handle its maintenance.

There are already 10 private space companies operating in Russia, employing more than 10,000 people. In 2026, Roscosmos will launch one manned and three cargo ships, Bakanov announced the corporation's plans.

The deployment is scheduled for 2028 from Baikonur, noted First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. The inclination of the orbit will be 51.6 degrees, which corresponds to the Russian segment of the ISS.
