An updated photograph of the domestic aircraft carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov" of Project 1143.5 has appeared online. The cruiser is located at the completion quay at the 35th Ship Repair Plant in Murmansk.
The docking phase of the "Kuznetsov" repair was officially completed in February 2023, when the cruiser was removed from the dry technical structure specially built for it.
It should be noted that the completion dates have been repeatedly postponed. According to current data as of March 2026, the exact date of the ship's return to the Northern Fleet remains uncertain.
In July 2025, it became known that the "Admiral Kuznetsov" is planned to be mothballed. As a reminder, the aircraft carrier has been under repair since 2017. According to various estimates, about 100 billion rubles have been spent on the ship, but there is no official information.
Former commander of the Pacific Fleet, Sergei Avakyants, warned that in the event of conservation, the cruiser would still have to leave a team of more than 150 people. The sailors must monitor the ingress of water and prevent any other problems with the "Kuznetsov".
