Huge New Production of Bevel Gears for Tractors to Open in Russia

Rostselmash to Fully Localize Gearbox Production

In 2026, Rostselmash aims to reach a new stage of localization — it is preparing for the serial production of bevel gears for its own gearboxes. In 2027, the company plans to increase production to 70,000 parts — this will be enough to assemble gearboxes for 4,500 tractors.

The project for self-sufficiency in key components has been underway at Rostselmash for six years. Bevel gears are critical for driving axles — they transmit torque from the engine to the wheels, and the quality of the parts directly affects the service life and reliability of the equipment.

For production, 10 modern metalworking machines have been purchased, including grinding and gear-cutting machines, and quality control is carried out on control-rolling equipment and coordinate measuring machines. Special attention was paid to Russian steel grades and heat treatment of large blanks.

Earlier it became known that Russian factories produced 388 tractors in October 2025. This figure is 46.7% less than the same period last year.
