Erection of temporary bridges for HSR completed in the Tver region

The crossings will allow the construction of a permanent bridge over eight kilometers long to begin

In the Tver region, the installation of two temporary bridges for the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed railway has been completed. The crossings were built across the Shosha River. They are needed by builders to start work on a permanent bridge.

The company "Natsproektstroy" reported that the temporary bridges stand on different banks. They were not connected over the river. This was done so that ships could pass during navigation. The length of the bridge at the left bank is 620 meters. At the right bank, it is 492 meters. The weight of metal structures exceeded 11,000 tons.

The permanent bridge on the first line of the HSR will become one of the largest. Its length will exceed 8 kilometers. 469 people and 61 pieces of equipment are involved in the construction. Engineers have already started digging pits for four supports. Work continues in the floodplain of the river. There, supports are being prepared for the future bridge. Of the 250 planned structures, 186 are already being erected. All work is on schedule.
