Commander-in-Chief of the Navy Reveals the Power of the "Lada" Submarines for the First Time: They Neutralize Any Surface Ships

Project 677 submarines are considered the most advanced of the non-nuclear submarine cruisers

Two diesel-electric submarines of Project 677 "Lada" as part of the Baltic Fleet are capable of virtually neutralizing any surface forces of the enemy. The capabilities of the submarines were revealed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy (VMF), Alexander Moiseev.

He emphasized that the "Lada" is distinguished by a high level of automation, low noise level, and more powerful weaponry.

Their presence and combat capabilities practically exclude the use of enemy surface ship forces.

It should be reminded that Project 677 submarines belong to the fourth generation and are considered the most promising and modern non-nuclear submarines in Russia.

In 2026, Russia will lay down two new diesel-electric submarines of Project 677 "Lada", Moiseev noted earlier. Submarines of this series are capable of diving to a depth of about 300 m and are distinguished by a low noise level with autonomy of up to 45 days.
