The 10,000 Rule Now Applies to Max: The Platform Has Been Recognized as a Social Network

Channel creators with large audiences are now required to register with the RKN and obtain the "A+" marking

The Max messenger has officially received the status of a social network. This happened on March 18, 2026 — and along with this, the rules that previously applied only to large social networks begin to apply to the platform.

The main change is that channels with an audience of 10,000 subscribers or more are now required to register with Roskomnadzor. The agency maintains a separate register of such pages, and it will no longer be possible to work fully without being included in it.

Registration becomes a kind of "trust mark": it confirms that the channel is real, not a copy or fake. But there is also a downside — restrictions are introduced without it.

Unregistered channels are prohibited from posting advertisements and accepting donations. Moreover, other channels will not be able to distribute the author's content without the "A+" mark, but with 10,000 or more subscribers

In fact, Max is moving into a new reality: from a messenger, it is turning into a full-fledged social network — with rules, control and obligations for authors.
