Production of Seats for Sollers ST6 and ST8 Pickups Launched at UAZ Site in Ulyanovsk - 40 Thousand Sets per Year

Industrial partner - Avtodom, all components from polyurethane foam to heating elements - Russian

On March 18, the Sollers Group launched a new production of seats for Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups at the UAZ industrial site in Ulyanovsk. The design capacity of the line is up to 40 thousand sets per year. The industrial partner of the project is Avtodom. In the near future, it is planned to expand the model range — the line will begin to produce seats for the Sollers ST9 pickup. The project involves Russian suppliers of soft foam elements for cushions, backrests and headrests, upholstery and heating elements.

Sollers Seat Production Line at UAZ: How Quality Control is Organized

The line is a universal complex with electronic equipment that actively monitors all technological processes. At the final stage, each seat undergoes computer testing: the system checks the correctness of tightening all fasteners and automatically tests the electronics — the operation of heating, adjustments and heating elements.

Assembly workstations are equipped with specialized tools, steam upholstery processing stations, lubrication and geometry control of finished seats. The flexibility of the line allows you to produce the entire range of seat modifications for ST6 and ST8 and quickly scale production for new models.

"We are not only increasing the share of local components, but also developing our own competencies and gaining flexibility in managing the model range," says Nikolai Khodosevich, Director of Procurement at PJSC Sollers.

Key Parameters of Sollers Seat Production at UAZ

  • Site: UAZ industrial site, Ulyanovsk
  • Industrial partner: Avtodom
  • Design capacity: up to 40,000 sets per year
  • Models: Sollers ST6, ST8 — in the future ST9
  • Localized components: polyurethane foam elements, upholstery, heating elements
  • Quality control: computer testing of tightening, heating and electrical adjustments of each product
  • Launch date: March 18, 2026

Localization of seat production at the UAZ site reduces dependence on imported supplies and shortens the logistics leg — components are produced in the same place where cars are assembled. For the pickup segment, where Sollers ST6 and ST8 compete with Chinese models, its own component production provides additional flexibility in managing cost and delivery times.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Sollers is launching a plant for airbags and seat belts for 1.5 billion rubles.
