"Supplier number one": IAEA recognizes Rosatom's leading role in nuclear energy

Grossi called for ensuring the safety of the Zaporozhye NPP and the Bushehr plant under construction in Iran

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is "very closely" monitoring what Rosatom is doing. This was stated by the Director General of the supervisory organization Rafael Grossi on the sidelines of the Moscow Non-Proliferation Conference (MNC).

The day before Grossi met with Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev. According to the head of the IAEA, the negotiations went "very well". The agenda of the negotiations was very full, he added.

You know that now is a "spring" for nuclear energy in the world, and Rosatom is the world's number one supplier.

Working relations with the state corporation are "based on friendship and mutual understanding." Rosatom is working closely with the agency, Grossi stressed.

He also said that he held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The parties discussed, among other things, the situation around the Zaporozhye NPP and the Bushehr plant under construction in Iran. Grossi noted that his position on this issue remains unchanged — it is important to ensure the safety of these facilities.

Nuclear facilities should not be attacked. I have said this in Vienna, in New York, everywhere, this is extremely important.
