Belarus has acquired the Oreshnik missile system with ballistic missiles from Russia. This was announced by the President of the Republic, Alexander Lukashenko.

Thanks to Russian President Vladimir Putin - this is his personal assistance. I asked - he did. And they paid money for it. Thank you! But we bought this weapon.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus

On December 19, 2025, Lukashenko announced that Oreshnik had taken up combat duty on the territory of the country. He claimed that the missile system was more than half - a product of Belarusian production.

The first use of Oreshnik in a non-nuclear version became known in November 2024. The warheads of the IRBM accelerate to 13,475 km/h. Videos were shown on the Web, demonstrating the difference in speed with other hypersonic missiles.

Military analyst Yuri Knutov explained that Oreshnik changed the very essence of air defense. For example, to intercept one missile, you need to use six THAAD launchers at once.
