The Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (JSC TsNIITOCHMASH, part of the Kalashnikov concern) will increase the production volume of Olimp-D hunting shotgun cartridges by 4 times this year. This was reported by the concern's press service.
In early March, the institute shipped the first large batch of 12/70 caliber cartridges with a plastic case with shot No. 3, 4, 5, 7 to the customer.
The increase in production is due to the increased demand for Olimp-D. At the same time, the company is able to maintain a stable production of such cartridges, the concern's press service emphasized.
Characteristics of the Olimp-D cartridge:
- Suitable for 12 gauge shotguns
- High sharpness of the shot (depth of penetration into the target)
- High accuracy of shooting
- Weight — 48 g
- Length — 60 mm
- Average speed of the shot projectile — 360 m/h
- Operation at temperatures from -50 ºС to +50 ºС
The ammunition is made of the latest materials. Thanks to the high-quality gunpowder and innovative primer composition, the possibility of case rupture is excluded, and barrel wear is reduced.
The Olimp series was developed for the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980. The line included 9 cartridge nomenclatures. Specialists of JSC TsNIITOCHMASH are improving ammunition, improving their ballistic characteristics.
