"Machine, might": the T-80BVM tank is capable of crossing minefields

The combat vehicles received a powerful electronic system against remote detonators

The Russian Armed Forces' main battle tank, the T-80BVM, is capable of crossing minefields thanks to its standard protection systems. This was reported by the combat vehicle's driver-mechanic with the callsign Advokat.

According to him, the crew destroys conventional anti-tank mines using a mine trawl. For magnetic mines, there is a powerful electronic system that burns out remote detonators.

45 tons are moving at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour. You know that behind you there is a machine, might. The adrenaline goes through the roof. I have never felt this kind of adrenaline anywhere else.

Let us recall that the T-80BVM is equipped with a 1,100 hp gas-turbine engine. The usual 125 mm 2A46M-1 gun is responsible for engaging targets with firepower.

Earlier, frontline Kulibins began installing unusual protection on T-80BVM tanks, aptly nicknamed the "kartuz". It is a cocoon of grilles and steel sheets that covers almost the entire vehicle but does not worsen visibility for the crew.
