A new batch of municipal vehicles has arrived in Krasnoyarsk. The city's cleaning fleet, with the support of the governor of the region, will be reinforced with 50 units of special equipment. The first to reach the operators were vacuum sweeping machines for sidewalks — the self-propelled VKM-2024 manufactured by Mercator, a recognized leader in the Russian road and municipal equipment market.
The machine is designed specifically for summer and winter maintenance of roads, sidewalks, and other areas with hard surfaces. The designers focused on maneuverability: the equipment easily operates in cramped urban conditions where large-sized counterparts simply cannot turn around.
Basic parameters of VKM-2024:
- Wheel formula 4x2,
- sweeping width — 2660 millimeters
- chassis payload — 1950 kilograms
- hopper volume: 2 cubic meters
The storage hopper is made of stainless steel. In one trip, the machine transports up to two cubic meters of various sweepings in the summer — this is approximately one to two hours of continuous operation. In winter, the machine's capacity can accommodate anti-icing agents.
A fundamentally important point is versatility. The operation of VKM-2024 is equivalent to the simultaneous use of a tractor with a brush, a watering machine, a front loader, and a dump truck. One machine performs a full cycle: sweeps dirt and dust from the road surface, washes the surface, loads sweepings, and delivers them to the disposal site. Additional options expand functionality and allow for year-round operation, which is critical to minimizing unproductive off-season downtime of special equipment.
