The first three low-floor UTTZ-6241 "Gorozhanin" trolleybuses manufactured in Ufa entered Route No. 34 in Yekaterinburg today.
Yekaterinburg Mayor Aleksey Orlov said that due to an increase in the contract value, the city will additionally receive five vehicles, bringing the final order from 50 to 55 units. The Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant won the auction to supply 50 vehicles for 1.2 billion rubles last year.
The "Gorozhanin" accommodates up to 100 passengers, including 30 seats. The trolleybus is equipped with extended autonomous running capability, meaning it can move without overhead contact wires.
The renewal of Yekaterinburg's trolleybus fleet began in 2023 as part of the transport reform. Since then, the city has acquired 100 new vehicles. After the current delivery is completed, only new rolling stock will operate on all trolleybus routes.
