The Kanash Railway Car Building Plant (KAVAZ, part of the Tractor Plants Concern) has obtained a certificate of conformity TR TS 001/2011 for the serial production of model 12-1304 gondola cars with unloading hatches. The document is valid for five years, until March 2031.
The model is not new: the previous certificate for it was issued back in 2010, but then the predecessor of KAVAZ, Promtractor-Vagon, was listed as the manufacturer. That version was equipped with a Motion Control 18-9836 bogie of American design (Amsted Rail). It was produced both at the site in Kanash, in Chuvashia, and later at the facilities of the United Wagon Company; the last certificate for this bogie expired in January 2023.
According to the materials of the Expert Group of the Wagon Management Commission, the use of a new bogie, 18-194-1 with an axle load of 25 tс, manufactured by Uralvagonzavod, has been approved for the 12-1304 gondola car. The decision allows unifying the chassis with the existing fleet and increasing operational flexibility.
