Restoration of the service cabin at Baikonur Site 31 has been completed

The key unit of the launch complex was repaired in two months

A large-scale restoration of the service cabin located at Baikonur Launch Site 31 has been completed at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The facility plays a critical role in the Russian space program: this is precisely where spacecraft with crews on board are launched from.

A team of more than 150 employees from the TsENKI branch office (a structural subdivision of Roscosmos), together with representatives of four contractor organizations, completed the task in just two months.

Engineers carried out a full modernization of the structure. During the repairs, specialists prepared 2,350 square meters of metal surfaces for operation and painted them.

The electrical part of the system was completely upgraded and tuned. The cabin's mechanical units underwent inspection and maintenance. Special attention was paid to welding work: specialists laid more than 250 linear meters of welds, ensuring the tightness and strength of the joints.

The most difficult stage was the installation of individual cabin sections. Some parts reached 19 meters in length, and their weight was about 17 tons.

Immediately after the completion of the technical work, preparations for the next mission began. The cosmodrome is preparing the Progress MS-33 cargo spacecraft for launch. The carrier rocket launch is scheduled for March 22.
