Frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov" Armed with "Caliber" and "Uran" Missiles Conducted Artillery Firing at the "Milan-2026" Exercises

The Project 22350 ship destroyed a shield target and mine mock-ups

In the Bay of Bengal, the crew of the Project 22350 frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov" practiced elements of joint maritime and air defense as part of a multinational naval group and conducted artillery firing.

A classic towed shield simulating the silhouette of a warship was used as a surface target. Air threats were simulated by aircraft flights and special light targets, which allowed the crew to practice the entire range of tasks to repel a combined strike.

The main fire was conducted from a universal 100-mm artillery mount A-190, capable of hitting both sea and air targets at ranges up to 20 km. For close-range air defense and finishing off targets, six-barreled 30-mm AK-630 automatic guns with a total rate of fire of up to 5000 rounds per minute were used. Both systems showed stable operation in conditions of intense maneuvering.

The ships gradually forced conditionally mined areas and simultaneously destroyed mock-ups of floating mines with ship artillery.

Also, the Russian sailors practiced anti-submarine tasks and joint actions with deck aviation.

The Russian Navy frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov" arrived in Visakhapatnam last week and took part in the International Naval Review. Russian sailors also participated in a foot parade that was timed to coincide with the opening of the exercises. The naval part of the maneuvers is scheduled for the period from February 21 to 25.
