Rutube to Start Selling Movie Tickets Directly on the Platform

The service will open access to 85 million users for film distributors

Rutube will soon launch direct sales of movie tickets — they can be purchased directly on the platform. This was announced by David Kocharov, General Producer of Rutube and online cinema Premier, at the CSTB.Pro Media 2026 media forum.

At the same time, the platform is opening up access to its audience — 85 million users per month — to film distributors through a set of advertising tools: a showcase with thematic content on the main page, CRM, pop-ups in the web version and on Smart TV, placement of trailers and teasers in pre-roll. Rutube plans to create a separate "event" on the platform for the release of each film. As part of the promotion of "The Tale of Tsar Saltan", the service even changed the logo on the main page.

The first projects supported by Rutube were "Prostokvashino" (premiered on January 1, 2026, grossing 2.4 billion rubles) and "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" (premiered on February 12, 730 million rubles in less than a week).

Rutube is not alone in its move towards ticket sales: MTS Media has already launched a cinema section on the MTS Live and Ticketland platforms, and the Kion streaming service has started selling tickets for offline screenings.

In 2025, the number of views on Rutube increased 2.9 times to 52.6 billion.
