Units of the Russian army carrying out tasks in the combat zone use exclusively standard communications equipment, which is not tied to various social networks and messengers, including Telegram, the Russian Ministry of Defence stated.
The communication channels of the grouped units ensure stable operation and interaction of all elements of the command-and-control system at the front.
Earlier it was reported that Russian servicemen use a domestic messenger operating over secure communication channels instead of Telegram. It is noted that Telegram poses a security threat because its servers are located abroad, and the enemy may gain access to messages and telemetry.
