The Kazan Aviation Plant remembered the Tu-334, which was developed in the 1990s, but did not go into mass production due to the priority of the Sukhoi Superjet 100. A source at KAZ (a branch of Tupolev) said that employees were instructed to paint the long-preserved Tu-334-100 with tail number 94001 in the colors of the "Rossiya" airline, writes "Vechernyaya Kazan".
Technologists are frantically looking for old documentation, and workers are changing wiring and sealant - the airframe is in a deplorable state. Deadlines are burning.
The purpose of the board's preparation was not explained, but employees suggest that this is due to the potential resuscitation of the Tu-334 project.
However, other sources say: the project will not take off. There is no money, the stocks at the factory are occupied.
As a reminder, the Tu-334-100 was intended to replace the outdated Tu-134, Tu-154 and Yak-42. The aircraft is capable of carrying up to 102 passengers over a distance of up to 3150 km at a speed of 820 km/h and can be operated on short runways.
