Russia continues to form new Unmanned Systems Troops (UBST), created in 2025. This was announced by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Sergei Rudskoy.

The work is being carried out on the instructions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin. The structure of UAV units is being improved in formations and military units, Rudskoy added.

In addition, the leadership of the Russian Armed Forces is cooperating with enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) and folk developers to organize the supply of "robotic systems for various purposes and basing", he stressed.

The Colonel-General noted that the use of strike drones is extremely effective and comparable to barrel artillery in terms of fire impact. A significant part of the enemy's losses are due to FPV drones, he concluded.
