It's not "Hazel": Analyst Lebedev revealed the secret of launches from Kapustin Yar on February 17

S-500 "Prometheus" tests were conducted at the training ground in the Astrakhan region

Some media outlets and Telegram channels reported that on Tuesday, February 17, rockets soared into the sky from the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region. However, we are not talking about the launch of the ballistic hypersonic "Hazel", explained analyst Sergei Lebedev.

According to his information, tests of the air defense system – the "Prometheus" complex – were carried out.

It turned out to be not "Hazel", but a test of the S-500 air defense system. Western intelligence confuses them.

Kapustin Yar is a missile test site in the northeastern part of the Astrakhan region. The facility began operating in 1946 as the State Central Training Ground of the Armed Forces of the USSR for testing missile weapons - Soviet anti-aircraft and ballistic missiles.

Earlier it became known that the first regiment with the S-500 "Prometheus" air defense system had taken up combat duty. Head of the Ministry of Defense Andrei Belousov noted that the complex is capable of hitting targets even in near space.
