End of Patriot's Invulnerability: Kh-58UShKE missile on Su-57 learned to "hunt" radars

The fighter will not have to enter the SAM engagement zone

Russian Kh-58UShKE anti-radar missiles, which can be carried by the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter, are capable of hitting anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM). Military journalist Alexander Kots spoke about the capabilities of the "SAM killers".

He emphasized that the new missile will allow destroying air defense systems without entering the engagement zone. At the same time, the pilot does not need to know the exact location of the battery. The maximum range of the Kh-58UShKE is 250 km.

Multi-band passive homing heads of missiles Kh-58UShKE cover frequencies from 0.1 to 11 gigahertz, that is, all those on which radar stations of Western-made SAMs operate - from AN/MPQ-53 to TRML-4D. This is a completely new level.

The head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, emphasized that the Su-57 is the only aircraft in the world capable of operating within the radius of action of the Patriot. He did not provide details, but, apparently, such capabilities are provided to the combat vehicle by stealth characteristics and the presence of high-precision missiles in the internal compartments.
