Since the beginning of February, the production of Aurus luxury cars in Yelabuga has been completely stopped, according to the Telegram channel "Russian Automobile". According to the schedule, the company will not start operating until at least March 31, 2026. The official reason is inventory. The conveyor workers were sent on vacation with 2/3 of their salary.
What is hidden behind the two-month inventory (which can be carried out in a week) is unclear. Either the lack of demand for "Aurus", or the protracted transition to restyling, for which much is not yet ready. The first restyled cars should be assembled in the first quarter of 2026. To comply with this plan, several bodies began to be assembled directly at "Sollers". But so far, not a single production car has been made.
Aurus has not yet commented on this information.
Earlier it was reported that Aurus production in 2026 will more than halve to 60 cars. Assembly in 2025 was carried out in small batches, and the volume of official sales was extremely small - on average, no more than two or three cars sold per month. At the same time, several dozen Senat sedans accumulated at the factory at various stages of readiness.
