In the waters of Peter the Great Bay, specialists from the modern rescue ship "Igor Belousov," part of the Pacific Fleet, conducted specialized training to provide emergency support to a submarine that had conditionally sunk and was lying on the seabed. The event allowed them to practice key skills in the field of deep-sea operations.
At the first stage of the exercise, operators of the "Panther Plus" remotely operated underwater vehicle performed a dive in the alleged search area. The device examined unusual features of the bottom relief and identified the location of the mock-up of the sunken submarine.
In the second phase of the training, the AS-40 autonomous deep-sea rescue module was involved. Its team carried out a descent into the specified sector, where they conducted a detailed inspection of the environment and the mock-up of the emergency submarine itself. After complying with all protocols, the device successfully docked and initiated ventilation of the compartments of the conditional submarine. In conclusion, deep-sea rescuers tested communication systems and power supply to the object simulating a submarine in distress.
"Igor Belousov" is a Project 21300 "Dolphin" ocean-class rescue vessel for the Russian Navy. It belongs to the 1st rank ships.
