Russian servicemen of the "West" group received a new batch of 2S44 "Hyacinth-K" self-propelled artillery units (SAU). This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The department emphasized that "Hyacinth-K" refers to particularly demanded models of weapons and equipment. Artillery crews, after receiving the latest self-propelled guns, have already begun to perform combat missions. They are used to defeat fortified firing points and enemy defense nodes.
About SAU 2S44 "Hyacinth-K"
The installation was developed by specialists of JSC "Central Research Institute "Burevestnik" (Nizhny Novgorod, part of Rostec). "Hyacinth-K" received a 152-mm rifled gun 2A36 "Hyacinth-B."
The self-propelled gun is created on the BAZ-6910-027 "Voshchina" chassis with a wheel formula of 8x8. It is equipped with a YaMZ-849 engine with a capacity of 500 hp. The speed of movement on the highway is up to 80 km/h.
"Hyacinth-K" has additional protection in the form of screens. The artillery gun is masked with nets.
