Concreting of the IC containment of the second power unit of the El Dabaa NPP has entered the final stage

Specialists are pouring 1160 m³ of concrete into the fourth tier of the reactor containment in Egypt

At the construction site of the first Egyptian nuclear power plant, El Dabaa, specialists have begun a key stage in the construction of the second power unit — concreting the fourth tier of the internal containment (IC) of the reactor building. The total volume of concrete mix for this stage will be 1160 cubic meters.

Four stationary concrete pumping units with distribution booms are involved in the work, which ensures complete coverage of the laying area and uniform distribution of the mixture. At the first stage, the teams successfully completed the concreting of the initial section with a height of 1.6 meters. In parallel with the main work, it is planned to completely fill the pedestrian airlock — a sealed passage designed for the safe movement of personnel inside the reactor compartment.

It is noted that the reactor building of the second power unit retains the status of the tallest structure on the entire construction site of the El Dabaa NPP.
