By the end of 2025, the average salary of IT specialists in Russia remained practically unchanged compared to the beginning of the year and the second half of 2024. In most regions, salary growth did not exceed the annual inflation rate, and the ratio of resumes to vacancies reached record values, according to recruiting services. Market participants fear that these trends, against the backdrop of general economic shifts, will cause stagnation or local declines in income in the industry.
In the second half of 2025, the median salary in the IT sector amounted to 183 thousand rubles, which almost coincides with the figure for the same period in 2024. Half of the specialists received more than this amount, the other half less. The slowdown in salary growth is observed not only year-on-year, but also relative to January-June 2025. Experts attribute this mainly to stagnation in regional companies, where the average salary by the end of the year reached 159 thousand rubles.
The situation is better in megacities: in Moscow - 230 thousand rubles, in St. Petersburg - 200 thousand. However, even in the capital, the increase was only 4%, which is below inflation. As a result, the dynamics of salaries in IT lagged behind the inflation level.
The slowdown in salaries affects not only IT, but also other key sectors of the economy. In the second half of 2025, experts noted the end of the long-term "salary race." The Central Bank explained this by the growth of business costs and the fall in demand for personnel.
