Stable mobile internet and communication have appeared for the first time in Russia's northernmost settlement — at the Dikson polar station. Two new 4G towers, installed on the island and mainland parts of the settlement, began operating at the end of 2025 and already provide residents with stable access to the network.

Currently, connection to the outside world is provided through a satellite channel, but in the future, the settlement will be connected to the underwater fiber-optic line "Polar Express," which will significantly improve the quality and speed of communication.

On the mainland, the equipment is installed on the existing antenna-mast structure of the Regional Radio and Television Broadcasting Center — this was the optimal technical solution. On the island, where the necessary infrastructure was absent, we built a new telecommunications tower. Two teams of specialists worked on the project: one was engaged in construction and installation work, the other was commissioning. This was a challenge for our team, but we successfully coped.

Dikson, located 500 kilometers north of Norilsk, is a key point on the Northern Sea Route. Despite the harsh conditions (the settlement is divided by a strait, and communication between the parts is possible only by ice, boat, or helicopter), about 500 people permanently reside here.
