In Russia, stricter oversight of vehicle technical inspections is planned to be introduced from September 1. The draft is being prepared for consideration by the government, a TASS source reports.
All necessary remarks have been taken into account, and the claims have been settled. At present, a conclusion is being prepared based on the results of the analysis of the draft law, which is necessary for its further consideration by the Cabinet.
The new measures will allow the Ministry of Internal Affairs to disconnect unscrupulous operators from the Unified Automated Technical Inspection System without the consent of the Union of Insurers, which will speed up the fight against fraud involving fake diagnostic cards.
It is stipulated that technical inspection operators will be able to check vehicles through the Federal State Information System "Taxi." This is necessary so that taxi vehicles, which are required to undergo technical inspection twice a year, do not evade this procedure.
The draft proposes simplifying the procedure for some vehicle owners by allowing them to provide the technical inspection operator with an extract from the electronic vehicle register containing extended information about the motor vehicle, rather than only the vehicle registration certificate or vehicle passport.
