The Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (TsNIITOCHMASH JSC, part of the Kalashnikov concern) has begun fulfilling a new state order for the production of 9mm SR.2M Veresk submachine guns in an upgraded version.
This compact automatic weapon has remained one of the most sought-after models in the arsenal of Russian law enforcement agencies and special forces for over two decades.
The main advantages of the SR.2M are the combination of small size and light weight with the outstanding penetrating power of the 9×21 mm cartridge, which allows it to effectively engage targets protected by modern personal protective equipment.
The SR.2M is a deeply refined version of the basic SR.2 submachine gun. Key improvements include an improved folding metal stock that folds over the receiver. Thanks to the modernized locking mechanism, the stock is securely held in the folded position during transportation, and the transition of the weapon from the stowed to the combat position takes a minimum of time and does not require significant effort.
The SR.2 family of weapons has repeatedly proven its effectiveness in real combat conditions and continues to improve based on operational experience.
