The company "Spetstransstroy", specializing in cargo transportation, has completed a month-long test operation of a new generation road train consisting of a KAMAZ-54901 K5 main tractor and a NEFAZ-9509 dump semi-trailer. The tests were carried out on the Saratov – Volgograd route, where the equipment was used to transport crushed stone during the construction of highways.
During the tests, the road train covered about 10 thousand kilometers in conditions of intensive operation. KAMAZ-54901 showed high reliability of units and assemblies, as well as efficiency and technological effectiveness, corresponding to the requirements of modern cargo transport. The NEFAZ-9509 dump semi-trailer with a platform volume of 33 cubic meters steadily withstood a load of 25 to 30 tons, maintaining operational stability and ease of unloading.
The tested KAMAZ-54901 was equipped with a modification that meets international ADR requirements for the transport of dangerous goods. The car received a new six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 482 hp and a 12-speed robotic gearbox. The tractor features a spacious cab with a flat floor, a multi-steering wheel, cruise control and a modern multimedia system with a 15.6-inch touch screen, which makes the driver's workplace as comfortable as possible.
The NEFAZ-9509 semi-trailer is manufactured at the NEFAZ PJSC plant in Bashkortostan, a subsidiary of KAMAZ. The updated version has an increased platform volume from 30 to 33 cubic meters, reinforced floor and sides, increased structural rigidity and hydraulic cylinder lifting capacity from 53 to 63 tons. New safety and ergonomic elements have been introduced: anti-slip aluminum panels, an additional ladder, a reinforced suspension and a brake system with EBS and a roll stability system.
