The Intellectual Property Court prematurely terminated the legal protection of Intel Celeron trademarks in Russia. The decision was made following a lawsuit by the company "TS Integratsiya," part of the "T1" holding, CNews reported.
The reason was the American corporation's failure to use the brands within the period established by law. The termination of protection affected marks registered under certificates No. 179946 and No. 184658.
The first trademark protected products in Nice Classification Class 9, including computer hardware and electronic devices. The second applied to goods and services in Classes 9, 35, 38, and 42, covering software, telecommunications, and business services.
The court found that Intel had not used the specified brands in commercial circulation in Russia during the established period. This provided grounds for early termination of legal protection at the request of an interested party.
It is worth recalling that the Celeron brand was registered in Russia in 1998. The trademark rights were renewed in 2008 and 2018. The processor line was used in the budget computer, laptop, and office systems segment.
