Manufacturer of GSh-301 aircraft guns, Lebedev pistol, and special equipment, IMZ plant, invested 450 million rubles in production modernization

New machines, furnaces, and testing facilities are already operating at the enterprise

The Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (IMZ) has invested 450 million rubles in modernizing its production facilities. As part of a large-scale program to update fixed assets, the company has introduced over 40 units of modern equipment, covering key areas of its operations.

The largest volume of upgrades occurred in the special equipment production division: half of all the new equipment was launched here. Among the installed systems are testing stands, washing and drying lines, painting chambers, as well as machines for machining parts. These solutions are aimed at improving assembly accuracy, improving coating quality, and reducing production cycles.

In the procurement and metallurgical division of IMZ, over ten technological installations have been put into operation, including several shaft furnaces and an induction melting complex. The new equipment will provide more stable casting and heat treatment parameters, which will directly affect the strength characteristics of the produced blanks.

The tooling production division also received a significant upgrade: an electrical discharge piercing and thread grinding machine have been put into operation. Additionally, the company has installed material input control systems and testing facilities, which will allow monitoring the quality of products at all stages of manufacturing.

According to the managing director of IMZ, Mikhail Melnikov, the investments are aimed at expanding the plant's production capabilities and increasing the output of products that are in high demand in the market.
