The KOM Group from Naberezhnye Chelny, together with the Elabuga Automobile Plant, has developed a hydromechanical transmission (HMT) for special equipment. This was reported by the press service of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The reason for implementing the project was sanctions and a shortage of critically important suspension components and other essential components. Russian machine builders faced these problems.
The project to create a domestic HMT received grant support from the Agency for Technological Development, whose operator is JSC "Industrial Development Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan".
The HMT successfully passed bench and road tests, and then received a certificate confirming its domestic origin. The first contract for the supply of 200 transmissions has already been signed with ElAZ.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that in the Tula Region it is planned to localize the production of transmissions for modern automobiles.
