A domestic microprocessor-based centralization system for digital train control has been implemented at the Kurskaya station of the fourth MCD diameter. The new equipment improves the safety and capacity of the railway network, according to the National Project Construction Group.
Kurskaya became one of the 16 stations of MCD-4 equipped with the domestic-developed MPC-EL system. The equipment is installed in a new three-story building of the electrical interlocking post, built by specialists from OSK 1520, which is part of National Project Construction.
The system allows remote control of switches and traffic lights, setting train routes, monitoring technical parameters, and timely detection of malfunctions. The software package includes cyber protection, which is especially important for critical infrastructure facilities.
Digitalization of traffic control increases the level of transportation safety and increases the capacity of lines. Kurskaya station is one of the largest transport hubs in Moscow, combining MCD-2, MCD-4, three metro lines, and ground transport.
Previously, National Project Construction companies built an underground lobby at Kurskaya, three new platforms with canopies along the entire length, and reconstructed three pedestrian tunnels.
