Moscow Railway removed 70 thousand cubic meters of snow - enough for a 52-meter-tall snowman

104 special machines and more than 5 thousand employees are working on the line

Over the past 24 hours, Moscow Railway (MZhD) cleared 70 thousand cubic meters of snow, the MZhD Telegram channel reported. For comparison, that volume would be enough to build a 52-meter-tall snowman — roughly one tenth of the Ostankino TV Tower.

Railway infrastructure clearing is continuing: 104 special machines and nearly 5.3 thousand people are working on the line.

Moscow city services are also carrying out round-the-clock work to eliminate the consequences of the snowfall, organizing the removal of snow banks from streets and the cleaning of pitched roofs, facades, drainage gutters, and funnels of apartment buildings.

The capital's snow-melting sites are operating at maximum capacity, and temporary storage locations have been organized for the prompt removal of snow.

The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has taken under control the timeliness of clearing the city after the snowfall from January 8 to 10.
