AI will protect An-124-100 "Ruslan": Volga-Dnepr is implementing a new security system

Artificial intelligence technologies in ASPPAP will appear in 2026

Russian aviation is accelerating the abandonment of foreign IT solutions in the field of flight safety. The Automated System for Forecasting and Preventing Aviation Accidents (ASPPAP), developed by Volga-Dnepr Airlines, has already been implemented by 15 industry companies in two years.

In 2026, it is planned to gradually integrate artificial intelligence technologies into the platform.

ASPPAP was created as an internal system of the airline and has been used in operation for more than eight years. In 2022, the product was launched on the market as a domestic alternative to Western flight safety and quality management systems.

In 2025, the developers significantly updated the platform, added the modules "Aircraft Engines", "Work and Rest Schedule" and "Prescriptions", and ten existing blocks underwent a deep revision.

We have passed the initial stage of the active phase of import substitution, when many industry participants were looking for analogues of foreign systems, implemented products and spent the past 12 months on customization, training and the introduction of new modules necessary for managing flight safety and quality.

Key changes affected the "Piloting Technique Analysis" module, which allows assessing risks for An-124-100, Il-76TD-90VD, Boeing 747, 777, 737, Airbus A320 and Mi-8 helicopters. A version for An-24/26 is under development.
