Rosatom Receives Construction Permit for Verbnaya Wind Farm in Rostov Region

The station will include 37 wind power installations

The State Corporation Rosatom has received a permit to build the Verbnaya wind farm (WPP) in the Rostov region, the corporation's press service reported.

The project has passed the state expert review, including the assessment of the results of engineering surveys. According to the documents, the Verbnaya wind farm will consist of 37 installations with a capacity of 2.5 MW each. The total capacity of the station will be 92.5 MW. The timing of the project was not specified.

In 2021, Rosatom commissioned the Marchenkovskaya wind farm. Its capacity is 120 MW. The energy facility is located in the Zimnikovsky district of the Rostov region.

In total, 6 wind farms with a total capacity of 610 MW have been launched in the region. They generate almost 8% of all electricity in the Rostov region.
