Power supply to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant via two external lines has been restored, according to the station's Communications Director, Evgenia Yashina. According to her, specialists completed the repair work and returned the "Ferrosplavnaya-1" line to service, thanks to which the station's power supply is once again provided through two independent channels.
Earlier, on December 16, the communication line between the switchgears of the nuclear and thermal power plants was damaged, which led to the shutdown of the "Ferrosplavnaya-1" line. For two weeks, the Zaporizhzhia NPP received power only through the "Dneprovskaya" line.
The restoration of two high-voltage lines, as noted at the station, significantly increases the stability of the power system and the reliability of heat supply to both the nuclear power plant itself and the city of Energodar in the winter period.
The Zaporizhzhia NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, located on the left bank of the Dnieper River near Energodar. The station has six power units with a capacity of one gigawatt each.
