Rostandart May Be Obliged to Check Russian Electronics for Imported Parts

The corresponding draft resolution was developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation

The Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rostandart) wants to be obliged to monitor electronics included in the register of Russian industrial products. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation has prepared a corresponding draft resolution.

Workshop for the production of basic materials for printed circuit boards

The document states that Rostandart will conduct scheduled inspections no more than once a year, and unscheduled inspections no more than once every 3 months. The agency will begin to control products that have already been included in the register (its developers are allowed to participate in public procurement).

Based on the results of the inspection, Rostandart will issue a conclusion. If foreign components were used in the production of electronics, it will be excluded from the register.

Senator Artem Sheikin said that the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation will help to bring order to this sector of the economy.

When products with a minimum share of Russian components are included in the register, this distorts import substitution statistics.
Artem Sheikin, Deputy Head of the Council for the Development of the Digital Economy under the Federation Council

Regular monitoring will help combat abuse, the parliamentarian summarized.
