As part of a contract with GTLK, the "Helicopters of Russia" holding of the Rostec State Corporation has transferred four new Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters to three regional airlines. The keys to the rotorcraft were presented during a ceremony at the Kazan Helicopter Plant.
Two helicopters were received by the airline "Barguzin", and one each was transferred to the 2nd Arkhangelsk Joint Aviation Squadron and the airline "Alrosa".
Mi-8MTV-1 can accommodate 23 passengers and allow for quick transformation for sanitary and evacuation tasks with the installation of medical modules. The aircraft are designed for operation in all climatic conditions and in a wide range of temperatures - from the Arctic to the southern regions.
Today, we are transferring four new helicopters to three regional airlines. This is just the beginning.
The context of the delivery is noteworthy. It was previously reported that about 300 outdated Mi-8 helicopters in Russia may be decommissioned within the next five years. Already at the end of 2025, 20 old Mi-8Ts were denied resource extension due to the expiration of their service life.
