Manufacturer of underwater missile carriers 955A "Borey-A" will increase capacity

"Sevmash" and "Zvezdochka" will put two dock complexes into operation by the end of 2026

Russia's largest shipbuilding plants, Sevmash and Zvezdochka, continue to increase production capacity. The enterprises are building three modern dock complexes, said Alexander Tsybulsky, Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region.

According to him, two docks will be put into operation by the end of 2026.

This will not only ensure the stable implementation of the state defense order, but also significantly reduce the shortage of dock capacity in the region.

According to Tsybulsky, the development of shipbuilding and ship repair in 2025 has a tangible practical effect - production volumes, employee incomes and the level of cooperation between enterprises are growing.

As a reminder, the plants "Sevmash" and "Zvezdochka" are part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation. The first one builds submarines of projects 955A "Borey-A" and 885M "Yasen-M", the second one repairs submarines of projects 971 "Shchuka-B" and 949A "Antey", and also provides maintenance services for existing strategic missile carriers of the Northern Fleet.

Russian President Vladimir Putin reported in July 2025 that the Sevmash plant plans to build six nuclear submarines within five years.
