"Beeline" connects to "Oreshnik" to combat fraudsters - "Fraud Roulette" from T-Bank

Оператор перенаправляет подозрительные звонки в сервис, где с ними работают добровольцы

The operator "Beeline" became the first telecom partner of T-Bank in the project "Fraud Roulette - a trap for fraudsters", aimed at combating telephone fraud. As part of the cooperation, the operator will redirect suspicious calls to a special service - "fraud roulette", where volunteers work with them.

"Fraud Roulette" identifies fraudulent calls and anonymously redirects them to project participants. Users connected to the system answer calls from attackers, thereby keeping them on the line and preventing them from committing real crimes.

According to T-Bank, in just three weeks of operation, volunteers answered almost a million calls, collectively "occupying" fraudsters for more than 5,000 hours. Thanks to this, it was possible to prevent theft in the amount of over 74 million rubles.

The service works on the principle of roulette - the search for the next fraudulent call takes up to five minutes, and each participant has a limit on the number of calls per day. The developers note that it is not yet technically possible to completely block fraud traffic, but the more calls that enter the system, the less chance fraudsters have of reaching real subscribers.
