Russian Kulibins have come up with a revolutionary way to protect battle tanks. Now they are completely covered with shipping containers. In fact, this is the next generation of passive protection after the hackneyed "barbecues" made of metal mesh and complex structures made of unraveled cables and metal profile.
The container mounted on the tank does not look as dashing as the "hedgehog" type protection, but it performs the task 100%. Corrugated metal walls up to 2 mm thick stop drones and prevent their cumulative jet from burning through the armor.
The open front wall with a mesh canopy gives the crew visibility and space for aiming the gun. More is not required, because tanks mainly perform the role of self-propelled artillery units now. In the rear part, holes are cut in the right places for the release of exhaust gases.
Earlier it became known that the crew of the Russian main battle tank T-90M "Proryv" hit a target at a range of 11.5 km when firing from a closed position.
