The small missile ship (MRK) "Rzhev" of Project 22800 "Karakurt" has begun the first stage of factory sea trials. The ship, which is being built for the Pacific Fleet, is accompanied by tugs.
MRK "Rzhev" departed from the outfitting pier of the Amur Shipbuilding Plant (ASZ, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) and headed to the Sea of Japan. The crew and shipbuilders of ASZ will check the operation of all systems of the main power plant, as well as the navigation complex.
About Project 22800 "Karakurt"
The project was developed by engineers of the Central Marine Design Bureau "Almaz" for the needs of the Russian Navy. A series of 4 MRKs is being built in Vladivostok.
The third-rank ships are designed for combat operations in the near sea zone. MRK "Rzhev" is equipped with "Caliber" missiles.
