Four stationary antenna posts for receiving signals from Express-RV communication satellites have been installed at the FSUE "Space Communications" site in Zheleznogorsk. The equipment provides consumers with access to the Internet through new-generation spacecraft, according to the press service of JSC "RESHETNEV".
Antenna posts are part of the ground communication complex of the Express-RV satellite communication system, which is being developed as part of the national project "Cosmos". Each station is equipped with a seven-meter parabolic antenna that automatically tracks satellites in orbit. The control system monitors the trajectory of spacecraft and maintains a stable connection. Express-RV satellites are created by Information Satellite Systems "Reshetnev".
Earlier, the government allocated 16.7 billion rubles for the design and production of four communication and broadcasting satellites, which in the coming years will replace eight Express series devices in orbit, whose service life is approaching 2029–2030. The first fully import-substituted Express-AMU4 satellite is already in production.
The new equipment and satellites will provide Russian users with more stable and wider access to the Internet, improve the quality of communication in remote regions and strengthen the independence of the domestic satellite infrastructure.
